Chikankata Member of Parliament, Honourable Jacqueline Sabao, has commissioned a Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) procured using the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at a cost of K2,171,520.02.

Speaking at the Chikankata Council Civic Centre on Thursday, 4th April 2024, Honourable Sabao said that a good road network is essential for community development, as it facilitates accessibility and drives both economic and social progress.

She said that with the machinery acquired through the CDF and equalization funds, the development and rehabilitation of feeder roads in the constituency will commence. The MP further assured attendees that the CDF Committee remains committed to equipping the Local Authority with the necessary earth-moving machinery to enhance road infrastructure in the district.      

Speaking at the same occasion, Chikankata District Commissioner, Mr. Timothy Chipolyonga said that the Earth Moving Equipment will go a long way in maintaining roads in the district especially those leading to health facilities. He appealed to the Council to make use of the equipment and safeguard it so that it serves the intended purpose.
