7. QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 80)
65. Ms S Mwamba (Kasama Central) - to ask the Minister of Green Economy and Environment:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to sell staff houses for the Forestry Department in Kasama District to sitting tenants;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
(c) what the cost of each house will be;
(d) if there are no such plans, whether the houses will be rehabilitated; and
(e) if so, when.
66. Mr C Mpundu (Chembe) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
(a) why the construction of Chembe Boarding Secondary School in Chembe District has not been completed;
(b) what the cost of the outstanding works is; and
(c) what the time frame for the completion of the outstanding works is.
67. Mr Katakwe (Solwezi East) - to ask the Minister of Information and Media:
(a) how financially viable the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation is, in meeting its operational costs; and
(b) whether the K5.00 monthly TV Levy is sufficient to sustain its operations.
68. Mr Kasandwe (Bangweulu) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:
(a) how much foreign debt the Government owed, as of August, 2021;
(b) whether the Government has been servicing the debt;
(c) if so, how much had been paid, as of March, 2024;
(d) how much foreign and domestic debt was contracted by the Government from August, 2021 to January, 2024;
(e) what major infrastructure projects were funded from the debt at (d); and
(f) if no infrastructure projects were undertaken, why.
69. Mr Sing’ombe (Dundumwezi) - to ask the Minister of Education how many classroom blocks were constructed in Dundumwezi Parliamentary Constituency in the following periods:
(a) 2011 to 2021; and
(b) 2022 to 2023.
70. Ms Nakaponda (Isoka) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct dams at the following places in Isoka District;
(i) along Kasimbi River; and
(ii) at Nansala Waterfalls;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(c) what the estimated time frame for the completion of the project is.
71. Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:
(a) how many veterinary laboratories were functional countrywide, as of July, 2024;
(b) whether there were any provinces without functional laboratories as of the date above;
(c) if so, why the laboratories were not functional; and
(d) when the affected provinces will have functional laboratories.
72. Mr Simbao (Luanshya) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
(a) why the construction of a staff house at Kapupulu Health Centre in Luanshya Parliamentary Constituency has stalled;
(b) when the project will resume; and
(c) what the time frame for the completion of the project is.
