Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security – On the alleged attack on the Sixth President Mr Edgar C Lungu’s motorcade by suspected UPND cadres on Sunday, 20th October, 2024, in Chingola District.

58. Mr Mukosa (Chinsali) - to ask the Minister of Health:
 
(a) how many staff houses for nurses there were, countrywide, as of February, 2024;
 
(b) what the housing deficit at (a) was, as of February, 2024;
 
(c) whether the Government has any plans to build additional staff houses for nurses to meet the deficit at (b); and
 
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
59. Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:
 
(a) whether there is a ban on the movement of cattle from Western Province to other parts of the country;
 
(b) if so, why the ban was effected; 
 
(c) what measures are being taken to mitigate the impact of the ban on cattle farmers in the Province; and
 
(d) when the ban will be lifted.
 
 
60. Mr Wamunyima (Nalolo) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to upgrade the Kalabo-Kalongola road in Western Province, to an all-weather gravel road;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
61. Mr Munsanje (Mbabala) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services:
 
(a) how many of the following, under the Social Cash Transfer Programme there were in Mbabala Parliamentary Constituency, as of April, 2024:
 
(i) beneficiaries; and
 
(ii) registration points;
 
(b) how many additional registration points are earmarked for creation in the Constituency in 2024;
 
(c) whether the additional points will also be established in Nalituba and Bulebo Zones; and
 
(d) if so, when the plans will be implemented.
 
 
62. Mr Allen Banda (Chimwemwe) - to ask the Minister of Education:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to introduce the English Language as a medium of teaching in primary schools, starting from grade one;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and 
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
63. Mr C Mulenga (Kwacha) - to ask the Minister of Transport and Logistics:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to lift the ban on night driving for public service buses;
