Suspend Standing Orders: That Standing Orders 26, 27, 51 and 80 of the National Assembly of Zambia Standing Orders, 2021, be suspended to enable the House to sit from 0900 hours until Business has been concluded on Friday, 15th March, 2024, and also to omit the Vice President’s Question Time from the Order Paper.
 
QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 74)
 
305. Mr Mulebwa (Kafulafuta) - to ask the Minister of Transport and Logistics: 
 
(a) what measures the Government intends to implement to address the escalating road traffic accidents reported to be at 9,888, as of third quarter of 2023, countrywide; and
 
(b) what the major causes of the accidents were.
 
306. Mr L Lungu (Kapoche) - to ask the Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a recreation centre in Kapoche Parliamentary Constituency;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
307. Mr Mapani (Namwala) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct an embankment between Namwala town and Kafue River in Namwala District to prevent flooding; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
 
(c) what the estimated cost of the project is; and
 
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
 
308. Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Information and Media:
 
(a) when the Government last funded the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) Department in Kalabo District;
 
(b) how much money was released towards the operations of ZANIS from January to May, 2023; and 
 
(c) whether there are any plans to increase funding to ensure that the operations of ZANIS in the District are efficient.
 
309. Mr E Tembo (Feira) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
 
(a) how much land, countrywide, in percentage terms, was being utilised for agriculture purposes as of June, 2023;
 
(b) what the tonnage of maize produced by small scale farmers, countrywide was, from 2018 to 2022, year by year; and
 
(c) what the contribution of agricultural produce to the Gross Domestic Product was, as of August, 2023.
 
310. Mr Mtayachalo (Chama North) - to ask the Minister ofInfrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
 
(a) when the tarring of the Chama - Lundazi road will commence; and
 
(b) what the time frame for the completion of the project, is.
 
311. Mr Mutelo (Mitete) - to ask the Minister of Health:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to procure the following for Mitete District Hospital: 
 
(i) an ambulance; and
 
(ii) a motorized boat;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
