(a) what procedure was used in the procurement of erythromycin drugs from Mission Pharma, a pharmaceutical company; and

 

(b) what measures are being taken to prevent the procurement of substandard medical drugs and medical kits in future.

 

151. Mr C Chibuye (Mkushi North) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security:

 

(a) whether the Government is aware that a suspect was found dead in police cells on Sunday, 19th November, 2023, in Mkushi North Parliamentary Constituency after allegedly being tortured by police officers;

 

(b) if so, what urgent measures are being taken to safeguard the lives of suspects in detention; and

 

(c) what measures are being taken to prevent such occurrences at police stations, countrywide.
