QUESTION FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 76)
416. Mr Emmanuel Banda (Muchinga) - to ask the Minister of Transport and Logistics:
(a) whether the Government is aware that truck drivers at Kasumbalesa and Nakonde Border Posts are being exposed to high levels of radiation due to the requirement that drivers pass through the scanning machine with their cargo; and
(b) if so, what urgent measures are being taken to safe guard the health of the drivers and prevent cancerous diseases.
QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 74)
417. Ms Halwiindi (Kabwe Central) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
(a) whether the Government is aware that 10 dams were breached and more than 27 others were reported to be at high risk of failing in Southern Province during the 2022/2023 rainy season; and
(b) if so, what measures are being taken to rehabilitate the breached dams before the onset of the next rainy season.
418. Mr Mtayachalo (Chama North) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
(a) whether the Government is aware that private companies in Chama North Parliamentary Constituency and other parts of the country, are buying cotton from farmers at a low price of K6 per Kilogram as compared to the K15 per kilogram market price in the 2022 marketing season; and
(b) if so, what measures are being taken to avert further exploitation
of the cotton farmers by the private buyers.
