QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 74)
 
 
400. Mr. Mabenga (Mulobezi) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to demolish the illegally constructed structures along the following railway reserve land in Lusaka District:
 
(i) Mandevu Township to Lilayi Police College; and
 
(ii) Kabwata and Chilenje along Njanji Commuter Railway Line;
 
(b) when the demolition exercise will commence; and
 
(c) whether those who will be affected by the demolition exercise will be compensated.
 
 
401. Mr. Mukumbi (Solwezi West) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a water treatment plant in Kalumbila District;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
 
(c) whether the water supply will include the following areas:
 
(i) Manyama;
 
(ii) Luwana East;
 
(iii) Mumbezhi; and
 
(iv) Kisasa; and
 
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
402. Mr. Mutale (Chitambo) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the NakatamboNsalu - Cave road in Chitambo District;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and 
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
403. Mr.Twasa (Kasenengwa) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
 
(a) when the construction of Kawawa Dam in Chiparamba Ward in Kasenengwa Parliamentary Constituency will commence, considering that the design and construction reports are ready; 
 
(b) who the contractor for the project is; and
 
(c) what the cost of the project is.
 
 
404. Mr. Amutike (Mongu Central) - to ask the Minister of Tourism:
 
(a) how many institutions, countrywide were offering tourism and hospitality courses, as of March, 2023; and
 
(b) at what levels the courses offered,were.
 
 
405. Mr. Chanda (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation:
 
(a) whether Zambians in the diaspora remitted any money into the country in the year 2022; and
 
(b) if so, how much, was remitted.
 
 
406. Mr. Mabenga (Mulobezi) - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and  Livestock:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to improve the breed of cattle in Mulobezi District;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
 
(c) what the specific plans are; and
 
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
407. Mr. Chibombwe (Bahati) - to ask the Minister of Transport and Logistics:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to expand the runway at Mansa Airport in Mansa District; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) when runway lighting will be installed at the Airport.
 
 
408. Mr. C Chibuye (Mkushi North) - to ask the Minister of Green Economy and Environment:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to degazette part of Myafi Forest in Mkushi District to allow for human settlement; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
409. Mr. Chinkuli (Kanyama) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security:
 
(a) what the progress in the investigations of gassing that took place between 2019 and 2020 was, as of March, 2023;
 
(b) how many cases were active in court, as of the same date; and
 
(c) whether any convictions have been secured.
