NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

1.    Announcement by Mr Speaker, - Mr Speaker informed the House that the

Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation had began broadcasting Parliamentary debates live on television effective 12th April, 2016.  He stated that the broadcast was on pilot basis and that viewers could access the debates on the following dedicated channels:

(a)    112 on ZNBC; and
(b)    825 on GOTV decoders.

Mr Speaker indicated that all Parliamentary debates would be televised live during the Meeting of the House as part of Parliament’s continued efforts to bring Parliament closer to the people.

2.    The House considered Questions for Oral Answer Nos. 390 -391.

3.    Report of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Governance, Human Rights, Gender

Matters and Child Affairs, - Resolved, That this House do adopt the Report of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Governance, Human Rights, Gender Matters and Child Affairs for the Fifth Session of the Eleventh National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 4th April, 2016. – (Mr Mweetwa, MP)

4.    Report of the Committee on Education, Science and Technology, - Resolved,

That this House do adopt the Report of the Committee on Education, Science and Technology for the Fifth Session of the Eleventh National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 4th April, 2016. – (Mr Hamudulu, MP)

5.    Adjournment, - Resolved, That the House do now adjourn.  (The Vice President)

        The House adjourned accordingly at 1928 hours.
