1. Papers Laid on the Table, –
Report of the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to scrutinise the Presidential Appointment of Hon Madam Justice Jane Kazora Kabuka, Hon Mr Justice Jones Chinyama and Mr Justice Nigel Kalonde Mutuna to serve as Judges of the Supreme Court and Hon Lady Justice Hilda Chibomba to serve as President of the Constitutional Court and Hon Madam Justice Mungeni Siwale-Mulenga, Hon Madam Justice Annie Mwewa Sitali, Prof Mulela Margaret Munalula, Ambassador Palan Mulonda and Mr Enoch Mulembe to serve as Judges of the Constitutional Court, for the Fifth Session of the Eleventh National Assembly (10.03.16) (Mr Chenda, MP)
2. Ministerial Statement, - The Minister of Home Affairs made statements on:
(i) the alleged brutalising of a citizen by the police at the Woodlands Police Station; and
(ii) why police officers were sent to Mr Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba’s residence,
following two Points of Order raised by the Hon Members of Parliament for Monze Central , Mr J J Mwiimbu, MP and Mazabuka Central, Mr G Nkombo, MP, respectively.
The Minister briefed the House on the measures taken to bring the culprits to book. The Minister also briefed the House on events that led to the apprehension and subsequent detention of Mr Mwamba.
3. Ministerial Statement, - The Minister of Works and Supply made a statement on the road development programmes in Zambia and apprised the House on the status of the
various projects being undertaken.
4. Ministerial Statement, - The Minister of Defence made a statement on the recruitment of military personnel in the Zambia Defence Forces and updated the House on the
recruitment process.
5. Ministerial Statement, - The Minister of Agriculture made a statement on the food security situation in the country and briefed the House on the food security situation of the
country.
6. The House considered Questions for Oral Answer Nos. 354 -363.
7. Report of the Parliamentary Select Committee, - Resolved, That this House do
adopt the Report of the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to scrutinise the Presidential Appointment of Mrs Yuyo Emma Nachali – Kambikambi to serve as a Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, for the Fifth Session of the Eleventh National Assembly (07.03.16) (Mr Kapeya, MP)
8. Adjournment, - Resolved, That the House do now adjourn. (The Vice President)
