Zambia to host 134th IPU Assembly in 2016
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Rt. Hon, Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini, SC, MP, has officially announced that Zambia will host the 134th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly on 18th to 23rd March, 2016.
He made this announcement during a press briefing at the Media Center, Parliament Building in Lusaka today.
The Speaker said the event will be an opportunity to show the world what Zambia has to offer in terms of tourism and also products manufactured in Zambia.
He also disclosed that the main venue for the 134th IPU Assembly will be the Mulungushi International Conference Center for which plans for renovations are in place in order to meet international standards.
The Speaker added that most of the materials needed for the renovations will be supplied locally.
