QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

421 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Defence how many Zambian soldiers and police officers died while on peace-keeping missions outside the country from 2004 to 2007.

422 Mr Chongo (Mwense) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a) how much money was initially allocated to the Programme for Luapula Agricultural and Rural Development (PLARD) in Luapula Province;

(b) how much money has so far been spent on PLARD projects since inception, district by district; and

(c) what other projects are targeted, district by district, and when they will be implemented.

423 Dr Machungwa (Luapula) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) when repair works will start on the Tuta road from Mukuku Bridge to Kashikishi; and

(b) what measures the Ministry has taken to ensure that those responsible for the damage to the road infrastructure while reaping huge benefits contribute to the repair of the infrastructure.

424 Dr Machungwa (Luapula) - to ask the Minister of Education when construction of a high school in the Bangweulu wetlands in Luapula Parliamentary Constituency will start.

425 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when the two bridges leading to Kashiba and Chikubi from Kanshimba in Chipili Parliamentary Constituency will be worked on.

426 Dr Machungwa (Luapula) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) what action the Government has taken against the contractor who worked on the Kafulafuta-Luanshya road (M6 road) in 2007 which was washed away several months later; and

(b) what measures the Government has taken to ensure that the situation at (a) above is avoided in future.

427 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development:

(a) what the initial purpose of the Commonwealth Youth Credit     Initiative Programme for Zambia was;

(b) what the programme at (a) above has achieved for the nation since inception; and

(c) what criteria are used by the Commonwealth Youth Credit Initiative Programme and its partners to give loans to young people in Zambia.

428 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) how many albino babies were born in Zambia from 2004 to 2006, year by year; and

(b) whether there is any law to protect albino babies against discrimination and stigma.

429 Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry when the Government will effect measures which will ensure that raw materials such as copper, nickel, emeralds and cotton seed are locally processed into secondary products.

430 Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) what the cause of the delay in constructing an international bridge across the Zambezi River at Kazungula is;

(b) how many countries are involved in the construction of the bridge;

(c) what the financial contribution of each country towards the above project is; and

(d) whether the one stop customs and immigration system will be provided and, if so, which country will host it.

W16 Mr C Mulenga (Chinsali) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) when the following basic schools in Chinsali Parliamentary Constituency were last rehabilitated:

(i) Chinsonta Basic School;
(ii) Namwenya Basic School;
(iii) Mwalala Basic School;
(iv) Bwinambo Basic School;
(v) Nashinga Basic School;
(vi) Kalela Basic School;
(vii) Chimbuka Basic School;
(viii) Chipunga Basic School;
(ix) Chilunda Basic School;
(x) Pulwila Middle Basic School;
(xi) Mulilansolo Basic School; and
(xii) Kapwepwe Middle Basic School; and

(b) how many desks are currently at each of the schools above.

W17 Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:

(a) how much money in foreign exchange ZAWA has earned from concessions run by non-Zambians or non-Zambians running companies registered in Zambia from 2000 to-date, year by year; and

(b) how many depleted game areas have been allocated to Zambians and non-Zambians.

W18 Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:

(a) how many hunting block concessions the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) has allocated from 2000 to-date, year by year; and

(b) how many of the concessions at (a) above have been allocated to  the following:

(i) non-Zambians running companies registered in Zambia; and
(ii) Zambians.

W19 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how much money the Government has spent on the University of  Zambia sponsored students through the Bursaries Committee from  January, 2002 to-date; and

(b) what the names of the students are, province by province.

W20 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport:

(a) how much money was spent on the maintenance of airstrips country-wide in 2007, district by district; and

(b) how much was spent on rehabilitating all the international airports in 2007.
