QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

448 Mr Lubinda (Kabwata) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services what the total number of Zambians employed in the following categories of the arts industry was as of 31st December, 2010:

(a) music;

(b) theatre;

(c) visual; and

(d) handicrafts.

449 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services:

(a) how much money was released for the Women Empowerment Fund in 2010 country-wide;

(b) which districts or constituencies benefited from the Fund;
and

(c) whether the Government intends to change the mode of administering the Fund.

450 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) how much money ZESCO Limited contributes to the Zambezi River Authority annually; and

(b) how the money is utilised.

451 Mr L J Mulenga (Kwacha) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how many basic and high schools were in Kwacha Parliamentary Constituency as of April, 2011; and

(b) what the teacher-pupil ratio was for the schools above from 2006 to 2010, year by year.

452 Mr C Mulenga (Chinsali) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) when construction of Mulakupikwa University College of Science and Technology in Chinsali District will be completed;

(b) what the projected total cost of constructing the College is;

(c) which contractor has been engaged to undertake the construction works; and

(d) how many local people have been employed by the contractor.

453 Mr Simama (Kalulushi) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) when the following roads will be tarred:

(i) Kamakonde/Kasempa via Lufwanyama; and
(ii) Kalulushi/Sabina; and

(b) when the tarring of the Kitwe/Kalulushi road will be completed.

454 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) what the total electricity consumption in Zambia was as of the following dates:

(i)  31st December, 2006; and
(ii) 31st December, 2010; and

(b) of the total national consumption, how much was utilised by the following companies in the same period;

(i) Konkola Copper Mines Plc;
(ii) Luanshya Copper Mines Plc;
(iii) Mopani Copper Mines Plc;
(iv) NFC-Chambishi Mines Plc;
(v) NFC Africa Mining Plc;
(vi) Lumwana Mine; and
(vii) Kansanshi Mine.

455 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development how many solar panels were installed by the Government at Chiefs’ Palaces in Northern Province from 2008 to 2010.

456 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

 (a) how much money ZESCO Limited spent on the installation of pre-paid electricity meters country-wide as of 31st December, 2010; and

 (b) whether the installation of the pre-paid meters has increased the revenue collections by the Company and, if so, by what percentage points.

457 Col G Chanda (Kanyama) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) how many boreholes are earmarked to be sunk in cholera prone areas country-wide in 2011;

(b) of the boreholes above, how many will be sunk in Kanyama Parliamentary Constituency and when; and

(c) what the total cost of the exercise at (a) above is.
