QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

498   Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    when construction of staff houses at the following health facilities in Kanchibiya Parliamentary Constituency will commence:

(i)    Chiundaponde Rural Health Centre;
(ii)    Kopa Rural Health Centre; and
(iii)   Chalabesa Hospital; and

(b)    what has caused the delay in commencing the construction works, considering that building materials were delivered in 2008.

499    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a)    when construction of the second footbridge on Lusaka/Kafue road near the Kafue Round About will be completed; and

(b)    what the total cost of the project is.

500    Mr Lubinda (Kabwata) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    how much withholding tax on rented property and consultancy services was collected country-wide from 2008 to 2010, year by year;

(b)    what was the total number of properties from which withholding tax was collected; and

(c)    of the total amount in (a), how much was collected from within the city of Lusaka.

501    Mr C Mulenga (Chinsali) - to ask the Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Development:

(a)    how many head of cattle were procured for the Mbesuma Ranch in Chinsali for purposes of breeding;

(b)    how much money was spent on the exercise above;

(c)    what the future business plan for the Ranch is; and

(d)    what the total hectarage of the Ranch is.

502    Mr Mwenya (Nkana) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    when the Kitwe Central Hospital was constructed and opened to the public;

(b)    what the nurse-patient and doctor-patient ratios at the time the hospital opened to the public were;

(c)    what the current ratios are; and

(d)    what the bed capacity of the hospital was:

(i)    at the time of opening; and
(ii)    as of March, 2011.

503    Mr Simama (Kalulushi) - to ask the Minister of Education how many schools in Zambia have school weather stations to assist pupils monitor the weather and understand changing weather patterns.

504   Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development:

(a)    what sports and recreational facilities were created for persons living with disabilities from 2000 to 2010 in the following provinces:

(i)     Lusaka;
(ii)    Copperbelt; and
(iii)    Luapula; and

(b)    how much money was spent on the facilities above.

505    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a)    how much money the Japanese Government contributed towards implementation of the Rural Electrification Master Plan from May, 2006 to December, 2007; and

(b)    how much money has been utilised by the Rural Electrification Authority on the electrification of projects from 2008 to-date.

506    Mr Lubinda (Kabwata) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    how much revenue was received in the form of the following  taxes from 2008 to 2010, year by year:

(i)     Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE);
(ii)    Value Added Tax (VAT);
(iii)    Customs and Excise Duty; and
(iv)   Corporate Income Tax; and

(b)    of the total revenue, how much was from the following  sectors:

(i)    mining;
(ii)   manufacturing;
(iii)   tourism;
(iv)  agriculture;
(v)  financial services; and
(vi)  information and communications technology.

507    Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    how much money the Bank of Zambia printed from 2006 to March, 2011;

(b)    how many bank notes in the following denominations were printed:

(i)    K50,000;
(ii)   K20,000;
(iii)   K10,000;
(iv)   K5,000;
(v)   K1,000;
(vi)  K500;
(vii)  K100;
(viii) K50; and
(ix)  K20; and

(c)    what the total cost of printing the bank notes was.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W27    Mr Lubinda (Kabwata) - to ask the Minister of Lands:

(a)    which parcels of land in the Lusaka Province were subject of the Notice of Cancellation of Certificates of Title of 13th August, 2009;

(b)    what the reasons for the issuance of the Notice of Cancellation were;

(c)    whether the Notice of Cancellation included parcels of land reserved by the Lusaka City Council for public facilities;

(d)    what the current status of the parcels of land at (a) is; and

(e)    whether any of the parcels of land at (a) have reverted to their original purposes.

W28    Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    how many hospitals and health centres were under construction as of March, 2011, province by province; and

(b)    what the total cost of constructing the health facilities is.

W29    Mr L J Mulenga (Kwacha) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a)    what the ratable value of each mining company in Zambia was from 2006 to 2010, mine by mine; and

(b)    how much money was paid in form of rates to the councils in which the mining companies are located in the same period.

W30     Mr L J Mulenga (Kwacha) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    how much each of the following sectors contributed to the national treasury on the Copperbelt Province from 2006 to 2010, year by year:

(i)    mining;
(ii)   agriculture;
(iii)   tourism; and
(iv)  banking and finance;

(b)    of the amounts raised at (a), how much was spent on infrastructure development in the Copperbelt Province, district by district; and

(c)    what percentage of the national revenue went to infrastructure development in the Copperbelt Province as compared to other provinces.

Consolidated Labour Statistics:  That, in view of the inadequate information on the labour market, this House urges the Government to annually publish consolidated statistics on the current employment levels, targets and pledges by all investors against actual jobs created.
