QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

523    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication what plans the Government has for developing good road networks in rural areas in order to make rural schools accessible.

524    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing why street vendors are allowed to sell puppies on some streets of Lusaka.

525    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education how many teachers from basic schools in the following provinces were transferred to other provinces from January, 2010 to December, 2012:

(a)Northern;

(b)Muchinga;

(c)Lusaka;

(d)Luapula; and

(e)Copperbelt.

526    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs:

(a)how many countries were member Parliaments of the Pan African Parliament as of December, 2012; and

(b)when the Zambian Parliament became a member of the Pan African Parliament.

527    Mr Bwalya (Lupososhi) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)when the Ministry will deploy medical staff to the medical centres in the SOS Children’s Villages across the country; and

(b)when the Ministry will begin supplying the medical centres with essential drugs.

528     Prof Lungwangwa (Nalikwanda) - to ask the Minister of Health why the ambulance that services Nalikwanda Parliamentary Constituency is not stationed in the Constituency.

529    Prof Lungwangwa (Nalikwanda) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply
        and Communication:

(a)whether the Government has any plans to re-open the Nakanyaa Postal Agency in Nalikwanda Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b)if so, when rehabilitation works on the building will start.

530    Mr Kunda (Muchinga) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education when construction of the following high schools in Muchinga Parliamentary Constituency will be completed:

(a)Chibale;

(b)Kanona; and

(c)Mailo.

531    Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education:

(a)how many desks were delivered by the Government to Mwinilunga Parliamentary Constituency in 2011 and 2012, year by year; and

(b)which schools benefited from the desks.

532    Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga) - to ask the Minister of Health when the Government plans to provide solar energy to the following rural health centres in Mwinilunga Parliamentary Constituency:

(a)Minyanya;

(b)Chisengi Sengi; and

(c)Kazozu.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W28    Dr Kazonga (Vubwi) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education:

(a)what major research projects the National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) implemented from October, 2011 to September, 2012 under the following categories:

(i)Information and Communication Technology Services;
(ii)Biotechnology; and
(iii)Livestock Productivity and Disease Control;

(b)what the total cost of implementing each programme at (a) was;

(c)whether NISIR  collaborates with other institutions in the country in implementing its programmes; and

(d)if so, which institutions these are.

W29    Prof Lungwangwa (Nalikwanda) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock:

(a)how much money the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) spent on the purchase of maize from 2009 to 2011, province by province; and

(b)how many 50kg bags of maize were purchased by the FRA in the same period, province by province.

W30    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security:

(a)when the audit to determine the number of labour officers in the country was last conducted;

(b)how many labour officers were in each of the following provinces as at the last audit:

(i)Northern;
(ii)Lusaka;
(iii)Copperbelt;
(iv)Eastern;
(v)Central;
(vi)Southern;
(vii)Western;
(viii)Luapula; and
(ix)North-Western; and

(c)how many labour-related matters were handled by the labour offices in the following provinces in 2012:

(i)Northern;
(ii)Lusaka;
(iii)Copperbelt; and
(iv)Luapula.
