6. QUESTION FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 82)
 
153. Mr Mwila (Mufulira) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:
 
(a) what the causes of continued mining fatalities recorded at Mopani Copper Mines in Kitwe and Mufulira in the recent past, are;
 
(b) what urgent measures the Government is taking to safeguard the lives of miners at Mopani Copper Mines and other mining operations; and
 
(c) what compensation is provided to families that lose loved ones in mining fatalities by the mining entities.
 
7. QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 80)
 
154. Mr Twasa (Kasenengwa) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
 
(a) when construction of the office infrastructure for Kasenengwa Town Council will commence;
 
(b) what the estimated cost of the project, is; and
 
(c) what the estimated time-frame for the completion of the project, is.
 
155. Mr Munsanje (Mbabala) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
 
(a) what criteria was used to pay farmers whose crops were insured under the Sustainable Agriculture Financing Facility;
 
(b) why farmers in the following wards in Mbabala Parliamentary Constituency were left out on the payment of insurance cover for the 2023/2024 Farming Season:
 
(i) Mang’unza;
 
(ii) Simaubi;
 
(iii) Kabanze - Mayobo;
 
(iv) Nchembe;
 
(v) Mapanza; and 
 
(vi) Ng’onga; and
 
(c) what measures the Government is taking to ensure that all farmers receive compensation on their insured crops on time.   
 
156. Ms Nakaponda (Isoka) - to ask the Minister of Technology and Science:
 
(a) how many communication towers were constructed in Isoka District from 2021 to 2024, year by year; 
 
(b) when other towers will be constructed in the following areas in the District:
 
(i) Milongo;
 
(ii) Luangwa
 
(iii) Mpungu; 
 
(iv) Kanyala; and
 
(v) Katyetye Chiefdom;
 
(c) when the communication towers at the following locations will be operationalised:
 
(i) Ngozi; and
 
(ii) Longwe; and
 
(d) what the cause of the delay in operationalising the towers at (c), is.
 
157. Mr C Kang’ombe (Kamfinsa) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
 
(a) when the dilapidated water pipes, in the following areas in Kamfinsa Parliamentary Constituency, will be replaced:
 
(i) Ndeke Village;
 
(ii) Ndeke Changa Changa; and
 
(iii) Natwange;
 
(b) what the estimated cost of the project, is;
 
(c) who the contractor for the project, is;
 
(d) whether the Government has expanded the operational capacity of Ndeke Water Distribution Centre to enable the facility to supply water to Kamfinsa and Wusakile Parliamentary Constituencies; and
 
(e) if the company’s operational capacity has not been expanded, why.
