In the heart of the Zambian Women’s National League, the 2024/25 season had been a rollercoaster of emotions, and as Week 29 concluded, the National Assembly football team stood tall, securing their triumphant return to the Eden University Women’s League for the next season.
The table is telling the story of our dominance: with 29 matches played, they clinched 19 wins, 5 draws, and 5 losses, amassing 62 points. Our goal difference of 24, scoring 40 while conceding just 16, highlighted our balanced attack and staunch defense.
The weekend had been pivotal. National Assembly faced a crucial match against Chainda Bombers , knowing a win would seal our promotion.
The closest rivals, Chipata Girls, sat just four points behind with 58, and Zedpro Sports trailed with 57.
The pressure was immense, but National Assembly thrived under it. The girls delivered a commanding performance, our forwards relentless and the defense impenetrable, securing a victory that ensured we finished in the top two places of the South League standings.
For the players, this was more than just a promotion—it was redemption!
National Assembly had been relegated the previous season, a bitter pill to swallow for a team with a proud history.
But this year, under the guidance of our determined coach, we have rebuilt, refocused, and returned stronger.
