QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 74)

293. Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to install street lights in Kanchibiya District;

(b)    if so, which streets are earmarked for the project;

(c)    when the project will commence;

(d)    what the estimated cost of the project is; and

(e)    if there are no such plans, why.

294    Mr Kolala (Lufubu) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to construct the following roads:

(i)    Mpongwe-Ngabwe-Mumbwa; and

(ii)    Kabwe-Ngabwe-Kasempa; and

 (b)    if so, when the plans will be implemented.

295. Mr L Lungu (Kapoche)        -    to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:

(a)    when construction of council offices in Sinda District will commence;

(b)    what the estimated cost of the project is; and

(c)    what the timeframe for the completion of the project is.

296. Mr Mapani (Namwala) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to construct a police post in Chief Muchila’s Chiefdom in Namwala District so as to, among others, reduce cases of cattle rustling;

(b)    if so, when the plans will be implemented; and

(c) if there are no such plans, what immediate measures are being taken to contain cattle rustling and generally maintain security in the area.

297. Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    how many nutritionists there were in health facilities, countrywide, as of July, 2023;

(b)    at what level of a health facility a nutritionist is required;

(c)    whether all eligible health facilities had nutritionists as of the date at  (a);

(d)    if not, what the shortfall was;

(e)    how effective the nutritionists are; and

(f) what measures are being taken to enhance their effectiveness.

298. Mr Simumba (Nakonde) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how many teachers were blacklisted for being in possession of forged grade 12 certificates, countrywide, from 2018 to 2021, year by year;

(b)    whether the Government has any plans to pardon the affected teachers, especially those that were employed using genuine certificates, but later submitted forged certificates to enhance their chances of promotion;

(c)    if so, when the affected teachers will be pardoned and given a second chance in life; and

(d)    if there are no such plans, why.

299. Mr Munsanje (Mbabala) - to ask the Minister of Health when the maternity wings at the following health centres in Mbabala Parliamentary Constituency will be operationalised:

(a)    Nalube in Chilalantambo Ward; and

(b)    Kabanze in Kabanze - Mayobo Ward.

300.    Mr Mutale (Chitambo) - to ask the Minister of Education:

 (a)    when the Government will confirm teachers in Chitambo District who have been in acting positions beyond the prescribed period of time; and

(b)    when the Government will adjust salaries for teachers who have attained higher qualifications in the District.

301.    Mr Kapyanga (Mpika) - to ask the Minister of Transport and Logistics:

(a)    when the Government will issue title deeds to beneficiaries of the Presidential Housing Empowerment Programme who bought houses from the Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority (TAZARA) in Mpika District;

(b)  what the cause of the delay in issuing the title deeds is;

(c) how many houses are earmarked for titling;  

(d) what modalities will be applied in the issuance of the title deeds;  and

(e)    if there are no such plans, why.

302.    Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central)  - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and  Livestock:

(a)    how many veterinary camps there were in Kalabo District, as of December, 2023;

(b)    whether there are any plans to establish more veterinary camps in the District;

(c)    if so, when the plans will be implemented; and

(d)    if there are no such plans, why.

303. Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security:

(a) whether the Government has any plans to procure computers and provide internet connectivity to police stations, countrywide;

(b)    if so, when the plans will be implemented;

(c)        what the estimated cost of the project is; and

(d)    if there are no such plans, why.

304.    Mr Mutale (Chitambo) -  to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:

(a)    whether the Government is aware that fishing camps in the following Wards along the banks of the Luapula River in Chitambo Parliamentary Constituency, were destroyed by officers from the Zambia Police Service and the Department of National Parks and Wildlife:

(i)    Katonga; and

(ii)    Lulimala;

(b)    if so, why the camps were destroyed; and

(c)    what measures are being taken to ensure that the affected fishermen do not become destitute after losing their source of livelihood.
