PARLY NEEDS TO SHOW ITS CONTRIBUTION TO THE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENDA, NGULUBE

Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia, Mr Roy Ngulube has said there is need for Parliament to show its contribution to the national development agenda in line with its constitutional mandate.

Speaking when he officially opened the orientation workshop for the Strategic Plan Implementation Committee on Saturday, 11th November, 2023 in Lusaka, Mr Ngulube said the institution needs to have a systematic and coordinated approach towards the implementation of the Strategic Plan, through deliberate efforts towards supporting the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities.

The Clerk added that the realisation of National Assembly vision is anchored on maximising available resources through a systematic planning process.  He therefore, directed the Implementation Committee to deliberate on the effective and efficient use of limited resources and how to prioritise activities and interventions in an environment where resources are limited.  He encouraged departments in the institution to collaborate in order to jointly undertake similar activities.
