MWANAMWAMBWA HAS LEFT AN ENDURING LEGACY – CHISANGANO

The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Hon. Malungo Chisangano, MP, has described the late former Speaker of the National Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Amussa Mwanamwambwa, as a dedicated servant who has left an enduring legacy. Hon. Chisangano said this on Monday, 23rd October, 2023 when she led a team of National Assembly of Zambia senior management in consoling the family and the widow, Mrs. Catherine Mwanamwambwa, at the funeral house in Lusaka.

Rt. Hon. Mwanamwambwa, who died on Saturday, 21st October, 2023, served as Speaker for the National Assembly of Zambia from 1998 to 2011. Speaking at the same gathering, the Clerk of the National Assembly, Roy Ngulube, extolled Mr. Mwanamwambwa for his distinguished service to the country and the National Assembly in particular.

Mr. Ngulube said that the late former Speaker will be remembered at National Assembly for several progressive reforms and projects that he initiated at the institution. Mr. Ngulube attributed the establishment of Constituency Offices, Parliament Radio and the Media and Visitors Centre among others as some of the reforms introduced by Speaker Mwanamwambwa.

The First Deputy Speaker, Hon. Malungo Chisangano, MP and the Clerk, Mr. Ngulube also signed the book of condolences at the funeral house.
