WEAR GLOVES AND CARRY LITTER BAGS, SPEAKER MUTTI TELLS STAFF

Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, the Right Honourable Nelly B.K Mutti, MP, FAPRA, urged the staff of the National Assembly of Zambia to wear their gloves and carry litter bags in a bid to ‘Keep Parliament Clean’ on Monday, 17th July 2023 at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka.

Speaking during the cleaning exercise, Speaker Mutti stated that the event marked as kick off to the ‘Keep Parliament Clean’ Campaign which was officially launched on26th June, 2023, where she had stressed the need of creating a culture of cleanliness and hygiene within the precincts of Parliament, Members’ Motel and all Constituency offices across the country. Honourable Mutti called on all staff that participated in the cleaning to "walk the talk" of keeping the institution clean, and actively engaged in the cleanup, a drive demonstrating the staff’ dedication to the cause. “if you have a piece of paper in your hand, you don’t just throw it away, you keep it until you can find a place where you can dump it. So please, lets ensure that we keep our environment clean.” She said.

The Honourable Madam Speaker was accompanied by the Second Deputy Speaker, Hon Frank Moses Moyo, MP and Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr Roy Ngulube at the flag off of the ‘Keep Parliament Clean’ cleaning exercise.
