Simulima receives CDF funded health facility in Nalikwanda Constituency

A modern health facility constructed using the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has been completed in Simulima area of Nalikwanda Constituency.

The newly developed facility in Mongu District comprises a health post, maternity annex, staff house, ablution block and a solar-powered water reticulation system, creating a fully equipped rural health service hub.

The project was implemented in response to community needs and forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery in rural areas.

The maternity annex is expected to improve maternal and child health services by providing expectant mothers with safer and more hygienic delivery spaces, while reducing the risks associated with travelling long distances to access health services.

The newly constructed staff house will also provide accommodation for healthcare personnel, a development expected to improve staff retention and ensure consistent service delivery within the community.

In addition, the facility includes a modern ablution block for both men and women aimed at improving sanitation standards and reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.

The entire facility is supported by a solar-powered water reticulation system to ensure reliable access to clean water across all service points.

The Simulima project demonstrates the continued impact of the Constituency Development Fund in addressing service delivery gaps and improving livelihoods in communities.

Once officially handed over, the facility is expected to significantly improve healthcare access and contribute to the well-being of residents in Simulima and surrounding areas.
