Mushitala School gets new double story classroom block built using CDF
Mushitala Secondary School in Solwezi District, has received a 1x6 newly constructed double-storey classroom block built using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at a total cost of K4.1 million.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony in Kamalamba Ward, on Monday, 30th March, 2026, Solwezi Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Stafford Mulusa, MP, said the development is a clear demonstration of Government’s commitment to enhancing education infrastructure across the country.
Hon. Mulusa noted that inadequate classroom infrastructure remains a major challenge in North-Western Province and emphasized that Government will continue to prioritise the construction of additional classroom blocks in order to reduce congestion and improve the teacher-pupil ratio.
He further stated that the utilisation of CDF has continued to play a critical role in delivering tangible development to communities, particularly in the education sector.
Speaking on behalf of the North-Western Province Permanent Secretary, Assistant Secretary Bornwell Njungu said the project underscores the importance of collaboration between Government, local authorities and communities in the delivery of development.
Mr. Njungu noted that investment in education remains key to national development and the attainment of improved social and economic outcomes.
Meanwhile, the School Head Boy, Paul Mukangwa expressed gratitude to President Hakainde Hichilema and local leadership for prioritising the education sector.
He, however, appealed for additional facilities, including a science laboratory and a library, to further improve learning at the school.
