The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation – On the temporary suspension and restriction of certain United States Visa categories for Zambian nationals.
9. QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 80)
129 Mr. Kandafula (Serenje) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the following roads in Serenje Parliamentary Constituency:
(i) Tazara-Kabundi;
(ii) Lupiya-Kampumbu-Mingomba;
(iii) Chimupati-Chimfunde; and
(iv) Mapepala-Nabowa;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
130 Dr. Andeleki (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Tourism:
(a) why residents of Moomba Chiefdom in Kazungula District are charged a levy for using the road that passes through the Dundumwezi-ZAWA Control Point in order to access Kalomo District;
(b) whether the Government has any plans to abolish the levy;
(c) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
131 Mr. S Banda (Petauke Central) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to reduce the cost of the levies, rates and fees charged by Petauke District Council;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
132 Mr. Hamwaata (Pemba) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
(a) what the total national maize consumption per year in Zambia, is;
(b) what the total storage capacity for maize for the country’s food
security is;
(c) for how many seasons, the maize at (b) can be stored; and
(d) what measures are being taken to ensure that the country is food secure.
133 Ms. Nakaponda (Isoka) - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:
(a) when the construction of the following infrastructure in Sansamwenge Ward in Isoka Parliamentary Constituency will be completed:
(i) an office block;
(ii) a dip tank; and
(iii) a staff house;
(b) what the cause of the delay in completing the projects, is; and
(c) what the cost of the outstanding works on each project, is.
134 Mr. Samakayi (Mwinilunga) - to ask the Minister of Green Economy and Environment:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to ban the exportation of unprocessed timber in order to promote value addition within the country;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
135 Mr. E Tembo (Feira) - to ask the Minister of Technology and Science:
(a) why the Post Bus, operated by Zambia Postal Services, which was allocated to Luangwa District Post Office in April, 2021, has not been delivered; and
(b) when the Bus will be delivered.
136 Mr. Kandafula (Serenje) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
(a) when the Government will resume the construction of Muchinda Secondary School in Serenje District;
(b) what the cause of the delay in completing the project is;
(c) at what percentage of completion the project was, as of August, 2025;
(d) what the cost of the outstanding works is; and
(e) when the project will be completed.
137 Mr. Mutale (Chitambo) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
(a) what the staff establishment for agricultural extension officers
in Chitambo District was, as of September, 2025;
(b) how many extension officers there were in the District, as of the
date above;
(c) whether the number of officers above was sufficient for the
District; and
(d) if not, when the Government will recruit additional officers for
the District.
138 Dr Mwale (Nchelenge) - to ask the Minister of Education:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate Nchelenge Secondary School in Nchelenge District;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
(c) what the estimated cost of the project, is; and
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
