The Competition and Consumer Protection (Amendment) Bill

Parliamentary Period: 
Second Session of the Thirteenth Assembly

The object of this Bill is to amend the Competition and Consumer
Protection Act, so as to—
(a) revise the functions of the Board;
(b) enhance the protection of consumers against unfair trading
practices;
(c) enhance the promotion of competition;
(d) provide the procedure for relocation of core assets outside
the Republic;
(e) align the appellate process with the Constitution of Zambia
Cap.1;
(f)domesticate the COMESA Competition Regulations, 2004;
and
(g) provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.
